LAND SALE.
On Saturday afternoon Messrs Nolan, Tonlrs and Co. submitted at auction two farms situated at ManutaJin, and at present occupied by Mr J. S. Crabbe. The property is midway between Bawera and Patea, and on the Main South r-&d. There was a g«"od attendance at the sale, and great interact was evinced.
Lot 1, of 136 acres, having no buildings upon it, was offered first. It was started at £20 an acre, and quickly run up to £38 ICte, cit which figure it was withdrawn. The land was sold aftnost immediately afterwards for £28 106 per ecse to Mr •J. F. Pease (Hawem)
I Lot 2. of 204 acres, was next submitted. It includes a good 9-room.ed house, stable, wool-shed, yards, and dip, and is subdivided into seven paddocks. It oommi&raced at £25 and wen/t <up to £28 10s, at wEich figure it was sold to Mr John Ryan, I of Manaia.
In the report of the Kapani fire inquest it was stated that Mr McCarthy appeared for the Royal Insutanoe Company, which held a, cover over the "furniture." This should have read "house," as the furniture (Mr McNeill's) was uninsured
D. Cullen, Kaponga, has a notice re the payment of accounts due.
Tenders are invited for the fittings contracit in connection with the New Plymouth Post Office.
