SYDNEY, April 9.

Mr Carruthem (Premier of New South Wales) conferred with Mr DeaMn (Federal Premier) with, referenda to the Commonwealth taking over Norfolk Island. ''They arrived at an arrangement to take the Island over, which the Premiers' Conference subsequently confirmed; It "wfll be taken over on the same footing as New Guinea, and will not be subject to the Commonwealth tariff.

The conference further discussed with Mr Deakin the question of immigration, amd agreed that the Commonwealth take over the advierfcising and shipping ©arrangements'.
