BRISBANE, January 29.

Mr Milward, Chief Electrician of the Pacific Cable Company, arrived by the Miowera. on his a<nnual tour of inspection. He says the cable is working exceedingly well, and traffic is satisfactory as far as it goes. At an early date changes would be made regarding handing 'in messages, placing the Pacific on the same footing as the Eastern Extension Company. He considers the cablci companies Have nothing to fear from wireless telegraphy, as there is a great deal of uncertainty about' the system, 'and it is also much slower, though it might prove useful in isolated placelß where there wasi insufficient inducement to lay a, cable.
