LONDON MARKETS.

Dalgetyand Co., Limited, Wellington, have received the following cablegrams from their London office, dated the 18th inst. :—

Butter. — Market weak. "We expect owes? prices. Total imports of butter mto the United Kingdom for 1 the week ending 13th inst. amounted to 81,000cwt as compared with 98,000cwt for the corresponding period of last year. The Copenhagen official quotation is 6 kroners lower (about 6s 16) per ewfc. We quote: Australian finest, 110s to 119s. The -market is depressed, and prices may deoline further temporarily, but we expect a better demand later possibly. - Frozen Meat. — Market very dull. Frozen mutton, prices are firm. Frozen lamb, prices are rather lower. Kew Zealand frozen beef, neglected. Since our telegram of the 10th inst. aXI sorts of tallow, except;, extira mutton tal low, are higher by 6d per cwt. Wheat. — Market steady. There is no disposition to buy. Wool sales continue active. Competition is brisk, and the buying is general from all quarters. Fine merino wools, market firm. Inferior, faulty, and earthy wools, prices, are 5 per cent, lower than closing rates of last series. Wheat market, steady but inactive.

WOLL, SKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW.

The N.Z. L. and M. Co., Wellington, report as follows : — Only moderate catalogues were offered at Saturday's sales. There was a fair attendance of buyers. Competition wa-s good for everything offered. Only a few lots of bag wool wereroffered. We quote: — Sheepskins: Coarse crossbred to B|d. pelts 7d' to 7fd, dead skins and damaged from s^d to 7§d, lamb skins 7^d to BJd per lb ; green pelts from 2s to 3s 3d. shorn lamb pelts Is to Is 3d each. Hides : Sound cow 54d to sfd, ox from s£d ti> 6d, cut and soppy hides from 3d to s^d ; calfskins, .sound from 6d to 7£d, cut and damaged 3|d k to 6£d per lb. Tallow, mixed, in shipping condition, up to 21s 9d, tins from 16s 9d to 18s 3d; horsehair from Is 7d to 2s v 3d per lb.
