The Parliamentary Committee of the British Trades Unions' Congress has appealed to the workers to vote only for candidates pledged to the Trades' Union programme, and willing to assist Labor to win its natural rights, including a higher standard of living.
DISSOLUTION EXPECTED IN
JANUARY.
LONDON, December 15.
Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman. addresses the London Liberal Federation on the 21st inst. at the Albert Hall.
The dissolution is expected to take place on January 8.
Earl Elgin, replying to the AgentGenerals' congratulations, said he would do his utmost to promote the interest of the Empire.
ANOTHER APPOINTMENT.
WINSTON CHURCHILL AND THE
COLONIES.
LONDON, December 15.
Mr T. ft. Buchanan has been appointed Financial Secretary to the Treasury.
Mr Winston Churchill, addressing the City Liberal Club, said freetrade and selfgoverning peace would- be the principle governing th© liiberal colonial policy of the nation, giving with an open hand and open heart all it had a. right to give — its, protection, credit, and a great, free market, asking jio price, driving no bargain and seeking no calculated repayment. This was the only union which would be able to preserve through all the years Great Britain's loyal, powerful, prosperous, and profitable colonies.
