IMPLEMENTS AND MACHINERY. J. HOPKIRK.

Still another importxint development in. local industry is shown by the splendid lot oi castings from Mr J. Hopkirlr's foundry. There are two lamp posts, one as it came from the cast, and the other dressed, and from the quality it is apparent that all other things being equal there is no necessity to send out of the district for goods of this description. _ A show of email castings includes pinions, grates, cogs, stands of various kinds, and other special lines. This is the first occasion tbat local manufactures of ths sort have been on view and they (naturally ottract a good deal of attention. MESSRS ROBINSON AND STEPHEN, of Eltham, have en view the new multi6pray Rochester pump. It has a spring shut-off, and the name of the muzzle, the kpjit-kiogg, at once indicates the specialfeature of the terminal fixture. Since the potato blight has become 6o general, farmers are naturally interested in the appliance with which the exhibitors affirm a n.an can. spray six acres of crop in a diy. NEWTON KING. Mr Newton King has a display of P. and D. Duncan's manufactures and some of the manufactures of the Noxon Company (Canada). The following were exhibited on behalf of P. and D. Duncan: Three combined graiii, turnip arid fertiliser drills, fiited with patent feed for sowing turnip eeecls singly; 3 double-furrow lever ploughs; 4 smgle-furrow handle ploughs; one lage swamp plough; one single furrow lever plough; 2 sets cast iron tripod harrows; 2 s«t6 tine harrows; 3-sets disc harrows with travelling gear; one hay Take ; and ono horse hoe and ridger combined. The Noxon exhibits aTe : Four jnowens (each cut 4ft 6in) and 3 Noxon hay rakes. The whole of the exhibits form a very complete line of great excellence and fanners could well select from Mt Kiaig's display any implement or machine ilikdy to be used in this district.
