Assault Case. — The police charged 11. Coffey with assaulting T. Wikox, and T. Wilcox with assaulting M. Coffey. It appeared that the men had a dispute at Rahotu, and adjourned to a paddock to a paddock to settle it, bnt the news of the fight becoming public the police took action. The defendants pleaded guilty, and the B.M. said that had they not done so he would have dismissed the case; as it was he convicted and discharged them. Judgment by Default.— G. Thomas v. J.
