(To the Editor.) Sir, — Will you kindly allow space in your valuable columns for me to ask how it is that at the forthcoming election on Wednesday next that a polling booth has not been arranged for at Normanby? There are many ratepayers here who find it very inconvenient to either travel to Te Roti or Hawera to 'record their votes, and especially does this refer to lady ratepayers, who may wish to exercise their rights -but cannot possibly spare the time to come into Hawera. And why should they be asked to do so? Surely the ratepayers here have a perfect right to ask that a polling place should be in the township, And whoever is responsible for putting those desirous of voting to the unnecessary and uncalled for trouble of journeying to Hawera to record their votes must have reasons of their own, if not sinister motives in so doing. — I am. etc..
