DUNEDIN, October 25. At the nautical enquiry into the circumstances connected with the wreck of " the barque County of Ayr, evidence was taken of two residents of Shag Point, who saw the vessel about two hundred yards off the shore on the morning of the 20th, also of the master, first and second , mates, and several firemen. The following decision 'was given: "The- Court finds ''the County of Ayr was wrecked on Danger Beef on the morning of the 26th, through careless navigation on the part of Captain Tulloch and his first officer, Jas. ' Arthur -Robillard, and_ Isonsiders both of these, officers to blame for not using the log, arid not taking soundings for their exact position when making' short tacks .off the coast during the thick weather prevailing. The Court considers that both the captain and first officer must be oensured for careless navigation. Their heavy loss_through the wreck is taken into consideration, and their' certificates will be "returned on payment of costs.
