Mi>AkGowan asserted that the power oi attorney from Willis to his wife was drawn iip by the Premier's fnm in May last, and that the Premier must have been aware -of Willis' intention to leave Australia*

The Premier absolutely denied knowledge <.i the document, and said he knew -nothing more of Wiliis' departure than appeai-ed in tho newspapers. The Government -were anxious to bring him back, but at piesent saw no way to legally do so. A Bill is now being prepared to appoint i-toi -to Commissioners for two years to enquhe into the whole working of the admin Y.ration of lands.
