HUNTING.
The Egmont and Wanganui Hunt Club held a run at Mr W. Brewer's "Waihau" on Thursday. Though the weather was not very favorable a large number of followers and spectators proceeded to "Waihau", where, they partook of a sumptuous lunch. From an attendance point of view the hunt was a. record during the history of the club, and no fewer than 65 followers crossed one fence without a fall. Visitors were present from Marton to Stratford, and one and all were very keen on tlie sport. The scenting was not too good on account of the high sou-easter and cold, but nevertheless two kills resulted.

Gay lor, Misses ampion, Wilkie, Higge, Todd (2), Brewer, 'Emelie, CutfieJd, Mr and Mrs Sutherland, Mr Moore and pajrty, Mrs Belcher, Mrs Nixon and Miss Nixon, beside several others whose names could not be ascertained. In the evening • the visiting members were given a ball by the Waverley members. About 85 couples were present.
