STRONG APPEAL BY, LOUD ROBERTS

Lord Roberts, in a weighty letter to the press, emphasibvs the pressing necessity of the universal training of {'he youth of' the nation to shoot. Ho appeals to Lords, Lieutenants, Mayors, and local "authorities to originate rifle clubs and invites contributions of £100,000 to place the organisations ou a permanent footing. He adds that if British soldiers in South Afriwi had been able to shoot belter the most unfortunate incidents would not have occurred.
