ELTHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The usual monthly meeting of the committee took place in the scnool~~on Monday evening. . Letters were received from Education Board re proposed alteration to school, stating that action would bo suspended till such time as it was definitely decided as to whether- the school was to be" removed or not.

The headmaster wrote suggesting certain alterations iv the arrangement of the schoolrooms, relating to light, desks, etc., especially as regards the infant room. It was resolved that action be held over for three months. _ ' A sub-committee set up to go into the matter of -bettering Jibe finances of the committee suggested that the parents and others interested in the school be asked for subscriptions, .and. farther that a concert be got up. Tine; report of the 'sub-com-mittee was adopted, the concert to take place in about six weeKs. ~ Revs. McGonnell and Johnston were appoinfed visiting committee for ensuing month. . " .. , , Tenders for stationery, were opened and sample* examined, the successful tenderer being Mr K. Cannell., „ , .
