DUNEDIN, March 19. Members of the land Commission reached Dunedin on Saturday evening. They heard «videuce at Waipiata on Saturday morning. ' . Robert Logan would not say that it would be in the interests of the State or of settlers to tut up the BJackstono Hi)), Home Hills, and Pakctoi runs, but there was mo question tliat settlers wanted land. He thought tne perpetuity lease for 30 years with re-valuation, was best for the country. James Howell said he would agree to divide ilie unearned increment if the Government would give the right to purchase clause. . . J. Indcr and R. Scott, while believing that lease-in-perpetuity promoted settlement, thought the option should be given of converting the holding into freenold.
