His first appearance will be at Feilding on Boxing Day. ° # * # Dick Jarrett, who has seen his days at sprinting and hurdling, is evidently taking on long distance running, he having nominated for the and mile at Feilding. Nominations for Wanganui Christmas Carnival, Hawera Caledonian Society, and Waitotara Athletic Club close on Saturday, the 17th inst. • # • From J. H. Thojnpson, secretary of the Stratford Caledonian Society I have received an attractive programme for the Society's annual gathering to be held on January 26th. The 100 yds is worth £5, 200 yds £6, 440 yds £7, 880 yds £6, mile £9, 220 hurdles £6, 1, 2, and 3-mile bike events are each worth £6, 120 hurdles £4, Highlanders are exceedingly well catered for. • • • Already several peds have their names on the forfeit list. This list will be amended from day to day, and every secretary supplied with a full list on the day of his annual sports gathering.
