ALLEGED PERJURY.
[PRXSS ASSOCIATION.] INVERCARGILL, November 29. The Supreme Court wat occupied all day in connection with a charge of perjury against Farquhar Mchenxie, in connection with the purchase of the Morning Star mine at Prebrvation Inlet in Dunedm early this year. Two men, McCreath ana Berndtson, bought the mine at auction for £85. The accused was present and suggested standing in with them on a third share, oiiering to finance the speculation by a draft on an Invercargill man. This was agreed to, but the draft being immediately dishonored it is believed that McCreath and Berndtson financed the affair without McKenzie. A few months later accused applied to the District Court to get his status as a partner in the mine denned, although the two did not appear and accused having sworn that he had paid his third share of the purchase money to Berndtson in Dunedin a decision was given in his favor. It is this statement that is the foundation of the present charges. The hearing was not finished.
