A TRIP TO ST. LOUIS.
AT THE WORLD'S FAIR.
(By "F.H.H.V)
ST. LOUIS, August 20. My intention is each morning before going out to give you a resume of the previous day's adventures and this I will do as briefly as' possible. We intend leaving home at 9 o'clock each morning, and remaining at the Fair till bedtime, and this is the only way in which we can have a hope to see a tithe of the exhibits. There are over 500 distinct buildings making up the exposition, and covering 1240 acres of ground. The first thing we did after taking tram to the main entrance was to find the Administration building, and look up the secretary. We found both him and his assistants most affable and kindly, and ready to aid us in every way. Ten admissions are given to each duly ' accredited pressmen, renewable when used, and' these are countersigned by the holder. After loading us up wjth official maps of the grounds and other literature, and insisting on our calling in again and often for any information or literature that, we required, we started off to scan the show. At once I may say that I was prepared for something huge and brilliant. But $hia surpasses everything that I coula hive thought of, and literally takes trie's breath away. Jtf is really , a big town .-— roads railways, pathways, parks, playgrounds; stacks of amusements, hospital, stairways, bohh, tic: The- administration buildings may bp passed over, as the place where all the officers are.
