ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

[press association.] WANGANUI, August 3. The body of a man named Murphy, a fireman on the steamer Aotea, was found in the river this morning. Deceased, who was a resident of Wellington, was married, and had four or five children. Deceased, who was forty years of age, had been missing since Monday. The river was dragged near where the .vessel was moored, with the result that the body was pulled up. Deceased evidently fell off the wharf when going aboard on Monday night. J. Suns, a foreman of the Fire Brigade, had his hands badly burned this morning when subduing an outbreak of fire which occurred in his house. He ran some distance to tjie station, secured the reel, and put the fire out.
