AUCKLAND GAOL CASE.

AUCKLAND, August 3. In tlie Mount Eden gaol case plaintiff a evidence was finished to-day, with the testimony of two prisoners, both of whom deposed to seeing O'Reilly prod Jay in the back with his knee. Mr Martin, in opening the case for Warder O'Reilly, said the Police Department wished to obtain Jay's photograph to compare with a^Australian photograph, and on Jay objecting the authorities commmuc^J. -with headquarters, after which O'Reilly was instructed to use force it necessary, even to the extent of handcuffs.
