Sir, -I do not know whether Mr Barton has yet decided that he hag now put the facts correctly even from lm own point of view, but if he has arrived so fur perhaps you will allow mo to warn the public that the bases of his bowilderinft calculations are unsound, and that consequently his figures ure futile. Generally, ton, his facts are the half truths that proverbially have a rather bad character. The Gas Company, however, does not repard it as within its business to reply in detail to Mr Barton's statements. if the Hospital Board or any other customer desires any information the Company will at all times be happy to supply it, and to have the correctness of that information tested by in engineer or by any other person who knows what he is talking or writing about. - I am, etc,
