A hundred and fifty thousand tons ' of coal for the Far East, ordered in February, is being shipped at Cardiff. Japan ordered an additional seventy thousand tons to be shipped in March and April. ' The Council of Ministers at Cairo decided that fr f om the 12th belligerents willnot be permitted to escort captured prizes through the Suez' Canal or into Egyptian ports or waters. Hence the Russians will be unable to convey to Russia for adjudication any prizes from the East except round the Cape. The decision contributed to the recent release of the British cblj heri captured by Russian*. The Council protests that Russian warships are overtaking the time embodied in Egypt's neutrality regulations. A Russian torpedoer collided with and ' sank an Egyptian -revenue cutter. The canal will be blocked at least a day. The cruiser Oslayba and the torpedoer baratoft are moored at the scene of the collision.
