PKR PRESS ASSOCIATION. HAMILTO*, June 10. I lie Waikato Licensing Committee renewed all licenses at Hamilton except the National, Ciiterion, Masonic, Cambridge, and. Te Awamutu Hotels, which wijl be decided at an adjourned meeting, and the Harbour yiew and Royal Hotels, at llaglan, which were postponed to allow time for repairs, MAKTON, June 11. The Manawatu Licensing Committee met yesterday, aud granted all appliea tions for renewals. Six additional rooms are to be added to both hotels at Shannon. The annual meeting of the Hawera Licensing Committee waa held at noon on Wednesday. Present : Messrs H. Eyre Kenny, S.M. (chairman.^, J. Davidson, J. E. .Wilson, H. G. Pitcher, W. Rowe, arid J. B. Stewart. The Chairman read tbe official letter from the Returning Officer giving 1 , the result of then Local Option I poll, in order to show -the powers of the Committee. ' ' The police reported that the house W»s in a dilapidated condition!, and required rebuilding ; also that the applicant had been fined for supplying a native, woman with liqtyror. The Chairman said the liqtuor had been supplied in ignorance, though i that was . no excuse in law, and the ' license was not therefore endorsed. Mr Bennett said no doubt the house was in a dilapidated' condition ; the whole state of tShe building! being) sufficient to warrant an order, that it be re-built. The floors of some of the rooms were much decayed, caused by dry rot. The , woodwork round the sink in the kitchen was in a state ol decay, there wais a smell from bequeath the sink, and the walls in places were decayed.
