THE SHAH IN LONDON.
IN BRILLIANT ATTIRE.

London, August 18. The Prince of Wales, Lord Roberts, and high functionaries of State officially welcomed the Shah, who was magnificently dressed, and wore a diamond centre in a black fez, thiee emeralds on each shoulder epaulette, gold jewelled chain over his shoulder like a sash, and heavily jewelled sword belt and scimita'-. He was accompanied by a brilliant suite. A guard of honour of the First Life Guards escorted him to Marlborough House. Troops lined the route, and crowds gave him an enthusiastic reception. The Shah was greatly pleased. The Prince of Wales in the evening represented the King at a State banquet at Buckingham Palace in the Shah's honour. There were sixty guests.
