ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(PER PRE-S ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, January 18, v An inmate of the Costley Home for} aged poor was found in the grounds of the institution with his throat cut last night. The man was Robert Coatb. 54 years of age. The man is inja critical condition. The officers of the institution are unable to find the knife or other instrument with which Ihe deed might have been committed. >■
Christohdroh, January 8. Louis Vernet, resident at Lakeside, was found dead in his whare to day. He evidently died from a gunshot wound, and a discharged gun was found by his side.
Masterton, January 13. A man named Sullivan met instantaneous death to night by a trap accident.
