ELTHAM.
(FBOM OUB OWN OOBBBSPONDBNT.) The new target range was opened to-day. There was a large muster of volunteers and honorary members, a good number of ladies also being present. The weather was anything but favourable. Had .it been a fine day it is probable two or three hundred would have been present. Captain Boddie, after a short address suitable to the occasion, announced that owing to the unfavour- 1 able state of the weather Mrs Boddie ] could not attend, to whom the ] honour of firing the first shot had being accorded, and in her absence he oalled upon Mr Priag to fire the first 1 shot. A bull's eye was signalled, and Mr Pring was heartily applauded. 1 After this the honorary members * (about 80 in all) fired from the 200 yards range, 5 rounds eaoh, followed I by members of the corps. For beginners the shooting, was really excellent, a * number of bulls' eyes being recorded. I Refreshments were provided, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent,
