THE PRINCE OF WALES.
The title ia not inherited, and has usually been bestowed by patent and investiture, while in a few instances the heir to the Throne has become Prince of Wales simply by bo being declared. The eldest son of the Sovereign is by inheritance Duke of Cornwall, and as heir to the Crown he is Great Steward of Scotland, Duke of Bothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, and Earl of Dublin.
