Chbistchubch, October 22. At a meeting of the Council of tbe League of New Zealand Wheelmen, a letter was read from G, Sutherland, from Paris, jußt after the World's Championships had been deoided, explaining the circumstances under which he had competed. He had found it necessary to use the authority given him, and had affiliated the League to the new body, the Internationalists' Union. The secretary was instructed to apply to the Union for a share of the profits in the World's Championships. With regard to the action of the Melbourne Bioyole Club, which was endeavouring to assume control of the sport in that colony, and which asked the support of the New Zealand Laagne, it was deoided to strongly oppose the principle of any individual olub attempting to control the soort '
The secretary stated that he had re", ceived a telegram from the Alliance in Auckland thai it had agreed to amalgamate, but a later telegram indicated that the matter was still unsettled. The chairman stated that a conference . between the League Athletio Association and the local Alliance representative would take -place the following evening.
