" Stirrup " writes :—" On Friday the Egtnont Hunt CJub meet was at OtaI keho, where several runs took placet the properties of Messrs Godeal, Hawkens, Blair, and Symruons being hunted over. On arrival the members and visitors were entertained at lunch at Mr Godsal's. The hounds were afterwards liberated and several good runs were obtained, a couple of kills being recorded. There were no very long runs, the longest being about two miles, but the country hunted over was very good, fences being plentiful and the obstacles, with a few exceptions, were negotiated in good style by those following. There were a few spills, but happily none serious. After the runs the hunting party were invited to Mr Hawken's, where, afternoon tea was provided. Mr Hastie (deputy-master) thanked the entertainers for their kind hospitality, cheers being given for the entertainers, bringing a good day's sport to a close.
