» ■■ '.. !l WAIMATE ROAD BOARD. j TO THB EDITOR. ij Sir,— With reference to Mr Blenner- ' hasset's letter in your issue of Monday, I have only to say that the figures I quoted were correct, and I made those ' corrections, (not as Mr Blennerhassett suggests because I was dissatisfied with the discussion at the Board meeting) but because be, through the press, made use of figures in connection with my name that were incorrect. He also points out that I omitted to mention the benefits to be derived by tbe Southern division. It would be a very easy matter to show that the Southern division bas all to gain, but I consider this contention useless, merely for this reason, that the legalised sub-division in which Mr Blennerhassett was a prime mover has praotically settled the question as far as the divisions are concerned. As it will now be illegal to take money from one division for expenditure in another, therefore my proposal could only affect the* working within each division. — I am etc. F. W. Wilkie.
