FARM & DAIRY

(Conducted by " Winnower.") NOTES. The weather is keeping mild, but though there are plenty of indications of an early spring, feed is pretty scarce. I had a run through a portion of the bush district the other day, and noticed that feed was short on many farms. Some settlers have the fortune (or the foresight ?) to have turnips, and these I observed were being carted out. The Taranaki Farmers' Club are desirous that privately manufactured 1 separator butter should be recognised as a seperate class in the Dairy Bill now 1 before the Houso. The amount of butter shipped from the breakwater for the four weeks ended i August 20 was 90 tons 4cwt 161bs. (Continued on fourth page.)
