Scandalous Behaviour.

- ■♦- (PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, January 21. Two girls named Mary Donovan and Theresa Butler, who were convicted on a charge of being idle and disorderly persons, and who elected to go to the Magdalen Asylum at Christchurch instead of to gaol, were again brought before Mr H. W. Brabant, S.M., at the Police Court. Sergeant Clarke stated that preparations had been made to send the girls away to Christchurch, but they had refused to go at the last moment, although their passages had actually been taken by Father Buckley. His Worship said they had behaved in a scandalous manner, and he would sentence them to tbe longest term possible — three months' imprisonment with hard labor.
