Inman Dramatic Company.

11 HELD BY THE ENEMY." The Inman Dramatic Company gave j their third performance last night before a fairly large audience in the Opera House. The piece chosen for the occasion was a five-act sensational military drama entitled " Held by the Enemy," and deals with events during the war of secession in America. The play was effectively presented and was splendidly acted throughout. Mr Bobert Inmate*, as Chief of the Federal forces, played his difficult part with much ability. Miss Maud Appleton, as Bachael M'Creery, is to be complimented on her acting of the heroine, especially in Act 3, where she pleads to Colonel Prescott to allow Gordon Hayne (Mr Newton Carroll, her cousin) to escape from prison. Miss Alice May (Susan McCi-eery) played her part with Mr T. E. Leonard (the War Correspondent) in a very lively manner. Both actors pleasing the audience very much. Miss Granville (Miss Euphemia McOreery), Mr Leighton (Surgeon Fielding), Mr Hodson (Bums, a faithful old retainer), and Mr Alves (General Stamburg), by their efforts contributed to tbe success of the piece. During the evening performers were several times called before tbe curtain their acting being so greatly appreciated. 11 EAST LYNNE." To-night the company will produce the new American authorisation of this favorite piece, in response to a special request from a number of residents to Mr Inman. The play is well spoken of I elsewhere and is well staged, therefore deserving of a bumper house.
