A Man "Wanted."

(PER PRB FS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, December 7. A well-known Auckland business man is missing from his office and his usual haunts. On Saturday, 28th November, the day on which the Mariposa left for San Francisco, the missing man stated he would be absent for a few days, as he was about to pay a visit to the country. As he has not been seen since, an enquiry has been made, resulting in an information being laid charging him with stealing £1132 16s 4d from the funds of a local Society, in which the public are largely interested, and a warrant for his arrest was issued to-day. It is stated that three cheques, which were duly made out in connection with the business of the society for £1132 16s 4d, were cashed at the bank on the morning of the 28th. An investigation is being made. No doubt further light wUI be thrown on the matter in the course of a few days.
