The winner of any handicap flat race, after the publication of the weights, to carry a penalty of 71bs in the Flying, Racing Club, and New Year Handicaps ; penalties not cumulative. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Ciubs of New Zealand. A Hack is a horse that has never won an advertised race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted), and is not nominated at time of start, and has not during the three months previous thereto, been nominated for any race (Hack and Hunter Races excepted).
