The winner of any handioap flat raoe, after the publication of the weights, to carry a penalty of 71bs in the Flying, Racing Club, and New Tear Handicaps ; penalties not cumulative. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand. A Haok is a horse that has never won an advertised race (Haok and Hunter Races excepted), and is not nominated at time of start, and has not during the three months previous thereto, been -nominated for any race (Haok and Hunter Races excepted). Protests, accompanied by a deposit of ss, must .be in writing, and be in the hands of the Secretary ten minutes after the event ; deposit to be forfeited if protest is not substantiated. The decision of the committee to be final. The committee retain a discretionary power in everything. Starter to have power to put back one yard for every false start after being duly warned, and to order off the field any competitor who persistently breaks this rule, or is insolent to him or any of the committee. All entrances and acceptances to be forfeited by such competitor. Nominations for handicaps, champion chopping and sawing contests must be in the hands of the Secretary by 8 o'clock on THURSDAY, 10th December, and must in all oases be accompanied by tbe amount payable. Handicaps declared on MONDAY, 14th December. Acceptances close for handicap chopping contest SATURDAY, 19th December. Sports to commence at 10.30.
