THE OCTOROON.

The Hawera Dramatic Club, under Mr Chas. Field's management, will produce, as their first essay of tbe season, the above well koown drama by Bouoicault tomorrow night and on Wednesday night. No expense has been spared in mounting tbe piece, and, as will be seen by a perusal of the programme, the oast is a very strong one numerically as well as from an artistic point of view. Tbe orchestra will be a special feature of the production, and will consist of Mr J. Higbam (conductor), Mrs Fairhall, Misses L. Harrison, E. Harrison, Ecclesfield, Flynn, and Dunne, and Messrs Morrieeey, Cudby, Tait, and Robinson. The drama is in five acts, and Mr Higbam baß got up a first class programme of music to be played in tbe entr'actes, including a new composition of bis own, to be played for tbe first time, intermezzo "Zoe." AllI the scenery is entirely new and specially painted for tbe production by Messrs Hoi ace Baker and F. F. Godfrey; and the company are indebted to Mr Arthur for loan of necessary stage furniture* Given anything like a decent night from Captain Edwin's point of view, the show should be greeted by a packed house, and we venture to say if this be the case that" the audience will show no falling" off on the second and last evening of tbe production. Full programme will be foand as inset in this issue.
