LIST OF BUILDINGS URGENTLY
BEQUIBED.
(Wanganui Chronicle.) : We give below a list of urgent works in the Wanganui Diatriot, forwarded to the ' Education Department at tbe Minister'! request in Jane last. The list totals op to the considerable sum of £6856 14s 6a, A supplementary list of works that will" have to be attended to soon, bat wbieh are not of each immediate urgency as those in the first list, was also enclosed, totalling up to £4976. The list of urgent works is as follows :— Obiogaiti, school, £500 ; Obiogaiti, residence, £200 ; Tai> korea, school aod| residence (combined), - £820; Nikan, aobool £200. residence £190 ; Birmingham, additions to school, £160; Feilding, additions to senbol,. £250 ; Feilding, additions to residence, £50 : Te Roti, additions to school, £180? Te Rotij residence^ £180; Macgahoe, sohool and residenoe (combined), £340; Onffo, school and residence (combined), £840; Pokiori, school and residence (com* bined), £840; Kobi, new .sohool, £200; Waverley, new roof to sohool, £40 ; WaX totara, residence, £190; Bataooi, rest* denee, £190 ; Mangatoki, residence, £190 ; Matapa, residence, £190; Pibama, tendonee, £190; Hurley ville, residence, £190 ; Alton, residenoe, £190 ; Momohaki, enlargement of residence, £60 ; Maxwell, repairs and additions to school, £50; Maxwell, additions to residence, £50;. Hawera, additions to residence, £25 J Orona Bridge, residence, £190; Carnarvon, new sohool, £180; Marton, repairs to closets, £15; Campbelltown, drainage," Ac, £25; Upper Tutaenai, additions and repairs to residence, £120; Hnnteroille, additions to residence, £60; College* street (Palmereton), Ao., £47 j Apiti, fencing, £14 14s 6d ; Terrace End, fencing, £10 ; Brunswick, new school (£4OO, less insurance £160 promised), £240; painting, argent, of existing buildings, £500; total, £6858 148 6d. Id tbe above list the amount for Obiogaiti and Brunswick have to be deducted, as speoial votes have been re** ceived in xespeot of them ; also the* amounts set down for the schools at Nikan and Taikorea, wbieh were dealt with yesterday. Bat even with these omissions, the Board have only £250 wherewith to meet a demand for argent works which would necessitate an eknen* ditare of £5000.
