Frozen Meat and the Army.
' (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, September 18. In committee of supply, in discussior on the amendment to reduce the armj vote, Mr Robt. W. Hanbury, membei for Preston, protested against the systerr of giving troops sixty per cent of frozer meat supplied at 4^d per Ib. Mr H Campbell Bannerman, Secretary of State for War, replied that the soldiers likec frozen meat, and the department haf received no complaints as to quality o rations. He declared that if tbe armj were canvassed it would be found thai the men were surprised at the goodnesj of the food. Mr W. Woodall, membei for Hanley, said frozen meat was at nutritious as could be wished. The amendment was rejected by a majoritj of 110.
