WELLINGTON, July 25.
Two young women, Maud Estall and Rebecca MoLoughlin, have been sentenced to tbree months for attempting to hold communication with prisoners while marohing through the streets, and for assaulting a warder ia the execution of bis duty. Ernest Gund was committed for trial for stealing a olook from a local hotel. Tbe alleged offence was com. mi t ted in November, 1892, but the property was only recently discovered in a suburban hotel, and was proved to have been Bold by the acoueed, who is at present serving a sentence on another oharge.
Although the Supreme Court criminal sessions do not open for & month, tbere are already tweoty charges against nineteen persons on the list. Tbe charges include arson, forgery, unlawfully wound» ing, assault, robbery, and rape.
