LOSS OF THE VICTORIA.
CONDOLENCE WITH LADY TRYON.

The Australian members of the House of Commons have united in sending a letter of oondoleuce to Lady Tryon. Tbey state that the late Admiral placed the defences of tbe colonies on n. thoroughly satisfactory basis, and his name and services will be long treasured with gratitude and respect.
The Lord Mayor's fund for the relief of sufferers by tbe Mediterranean disaster has reached £12,000.
Among those drowned in the Viotoria were 90 men who were ordered to close the bulkheads. They could easily have esoaped by disobeying ordertt and seeking their own safety.
An officer who witnessed the catastrophe says the Camperdown lost control of her rudder, and at the same time the Viotoria swerved slightly, so that both ships were nearing each other.
The Nile will be temporarily used as the flagship of the Mediterranean Squadron until the arrival of the Benbow.
H.M.B. Fearless took ground while Bearobing for bodies off Tripoli.
Captain Bourke will be tried by courtmartial for tbe loss of the Victoria.
The Australian cricketers subicribed £25 towards the Victoria fund.
