The ordinary meeting was held the same day. . Correspondence read from, — Mr G. W. Gane tendering his resignation as a member, he contemplating takinga trip, which may necessitate bis absence several months.-— Accepted. Mr Alward »vaß allowed to hold over his contract until spring. , Mr Breach re Ihaia~road.— • The clerk wits instructed to, go through the records, also write . to tbe^ County Council for information.. , I The clerk vto. write Messrs Hogan and Co. re poisoned wheat, ascertain cost and deal with same with the chairman. The sum of £4 was voted for Kahni J road east. - < The Chairman instructed. the overseer to repair some bad places on Manibi road. The Clerk was infracted to take steps for ajG6OO loan for Warea'.East road. Decided to lease tho cemetery reserve for one.year. Notioe of motion to strike £d in £ rate was given. Mucu Borpriae is caused by Mr Maxwell' voting for £1 for Mr E. M. Smith's expanses to Wellington, at the' Harbor Board meeting. I think the public tbanks are due to Mr' Corkilk for the manner in ' whioh be acted. j
