(FROM OUB OWN CORRESPOKDNT.)

The Eltham sohool concert; was held on Friday last, and was a great Boocess, there being about 200 present, without the Children, of whom there were 120 who took part in the performance. The way in which they took their parts reflects great credit on their teachers, for I am informed that they have oolv been in training for six weeks The first part of the programme was almost entirely by tbe ohildren, which was as follows: —Overture, Misses "Williamson and Oleary; Little Bo Peep, by the infants ; Hearts of Oak (senior boys), very good ; violin and and piano duet, Miss Nelly Martin and Master Striokland; Indian Warrior's Bong, boys; Won't You Buy My Pretty Flowers, by 9 little girls. This was a gem. Star ol Peace, boys and girls. Over one hundred voioes took part in this song, which waa very good indeed. Piano solo, Miss Cannell; an excellent item. Sleepy Boys (boys and girls) was immense, for the sleepy boys were perfection. Japanese fan song, by 60 girls. This was, as expeoted, the gem of the evening, for they did it splendidly; eaoh had a oolored fan, and all'were dressed in white. The eeoond part was taken by adnlts, bnt tbe names of tbe pieces played and Songs sung I have not been able to Ascertain. Tbe following are the names oi those that took part:—Duet, two violins, Mepsrs Dawson and Keoghagan; song, Mrs Kennedy; song, Mr H. Jenkins; pit*,oo duet, Misses Martin and Lester; ■ong, Misß Wilson; song, Mies Sanders; recitation, Mies Mills; song, Miss Flynn; song, Mr Chambers; God Save the Qneen, children. The success whioh has attended this concert will give the' committee funds to oarry out some necessary improvements! and it spems to arouse the people's interest in the Bchool, lor committee have offers fo timber to put up sheds and labor to paint them, and one gentleman is going to give posts for the neoeßsary fencing, another the wire.
