HAWERA, The Taiporohenui team, recognising tbat their chance .for the Cup was small, have deciied to discontinue playing for the senior championship and go in for tbf junior. The above was played al Normanby or^ Safcrday last, and turned out to be a mjicbr better contested gam* than was anticipated, as it was feared tbat the local team would be completely out* matched. Normanby were compelled to get two boys to play, and then had to play two men short. Tbe scores were: Manaia, 10 points (9 goals) ; Normanby, nil. The Manaia team was ranch the'Eeaviest, and playei* rC a good, unselfish game, and deserve tbi win. The Normanby' team, with praotioe, should give a good account of themselves in future matches.,.
