WELLINGTON, May 2. no IWOl W0 aoroto stowaways were fined £3 each or 21 days' imprisonment. Mills was charged with jewel robbery at Sydney before the court to-day. Detective Harper, of Sydney, applied for his extradition. Prisoner's counsel objected, and considered some evidence ought to be offered, but the R.M. overruled him, and ordered tbe prisoner to be banded over. Robert Walker, a seoond-hand dSaler, charged Deteotivs Ede with drunkenness and insulting language in saying he was nothing but a reoeiver of stolen goodß. After portion ot .the evidence was taken the case was adjourned for a week.
: NAPIER, May 3., The Knights of Labor have carried a resolution supporting the proposal of the Wellington Trades and Labor Connoil to erect a statue to the memory of the late Premier.
