LONDON, January 24. The Cabinet disoussed the Egyptian question to-day for four hours. Despatches from Cairo are of an alarming nature, arid represent the natives as insulting European women. Pierce Mahony and Matthew Kenny, M.P's, had a quarrel in a Dublin court, which resulted in the latter getting a black eye. Mahony alleged tbat Eenny bad ineulted his mother. He was committed for trial on a charge of assault, and was cheered by the orowd on leaving tbe court. Wells, the man who won heavily at Monte Carlo last year, and has since been charged as a swindler by Troth, is stated to have obtained £29,000 by supplying bogus patents. It is also stated tbat £30,000 passed through the handß of his bankers at Monte Carlo. BERLIN, January 24. Reports are current here to the effect that Russia is massing troops on tbe Polish frontier and hastening the construction of strategic railways, barraoks and entrenched camps. General Gourke, addressing the Russian generals, assured them tbat " tbe harvest was at hand.
