(Mail Telegram.) The great railroad speculator and multi. millionaire, Jay Gould, died at his reii. dence in New York on Friday morning. December 2nd. He bad been declining m health for more than a year p«st. <Hia death bad but little perceptible effect on the money market or any railway .securities of the country. His funeral, which was a serai-public one, took plaoe on Dec. 3rd. Nona of tbe family or relatives were present. After Gould's death there was a disposition to think he had been harshly dealt with, and people were gene* rally inclined to give him the benefit ofA | many doubts, but his will caused a general^ revulsion.
