(Vide N .Z. Stud Book.) Foul Shot is a beautiful dapple bay, with black points, and stands 16 bands 1 inch high. He is a powerful thoroughbred horße, with immense bone and muscle; has legs like barß of iron, with powerful quarters, and greatly resembles his sire, Musket! Fottl Shot's stook are allowed by competent judges to be tbe finest lot that have ever been seen on the coast, and his stock out of thoroughbred mares are admitted to be equal to anything in New Zealand, either for good lookß, size, or quality. Foul Shot started, three times as a two-year-old. Won the; Welcome Stakes, and ran second to Thunderbolt for the Midsummer Stakeß and -New Year's Gift. As a three-year-old he won. the Great Northern Derby— time, 2m. 40£b. —beating Stonyhurst; and his next win was the Grand Stand Handicap. He also ran second to Derringer for the N.Z. Stud Company's Sires Stakes. Terms : — Thoroughbred mares £5, others £4; reduction for two of more. All care taken, bat no responsibility. O. WARD. Robert the Bruce, bred by Mr., James Petrie, Stirling, is ; a dapple., bay.; stands 17 hands high, with, great (tone .and muscle, short back, deepq'b'ar'terß, with great style and action, Robert the Bruce, by Auditor out of BloBBom; Auditor^ bred by. the Hon. M. Holmes, and got by Young Banker; Auditor^ dam, Pearl, bred by Mr. J. Harman, Victoria. Auditor, in 1881, at the Olutha Show, a o a three-year-old, gained the gold medal against all comers and the champion priz* for tbe best horse on tbe ground. The same year, at Mataura Show, he gained two prizes, competing with aged horses, and a silver cup for the best three year old colt At Mataura in 1883 he gained the silver cup. Auditor's dam, Pearl, by Hero (imp.), dam by Matchless (imp.). Pearl waß a great breeder; her .daughter, Sapphire, was first at Dunedin, and Oamaru three years in succession. Robert the Bruce's dam. Blossom, by Taieri Lad, bred by, Messrs McDonald Brothers, Inch Clutha, oat of Lacy, by Oomet. Blossom, as a two year, old in 1878, gained the silver medal as a first prize at tbe Olutha, and as a prize taker was never beaten in local competition in the Olutha. Taieri Lad by Emperor ; Emperor by Napoleon, imported from Scotland by the late J. Nimmo, Esq. ' Oomet was bred by tbe late J. Nimmo, Esq. ; Oomet's sire, The Marquis,' imported from Victoria by the late Robert Miller; The Marquis' sire tbe renowned Prince Obarlie. Comet's dam, Jean, imported from Scotland by the late J. Nimmo,) Esq. Jean was bred by Alexander Galbraith, Oraigiecunahona, Killara, Stirlingshire ; Jean's sire, Justice, a famed prize .winner. " Terms:— £3 3b per mare.
