A meeting of ladies was held in the schoolroom on tbe afternoon of Monday* November 28 th, for tbe par pose of arrang* ing the school picnic, in conjunction with the School Committee. It was resolved that tbe following ladies form a committee : Mesdames E. O. Meredith, P. Bayly, Eagles, and J. Harrie. and the Misses Gwynne, Lloyd, Gane, and Crocker. Mrs. Meredith was unanimously appointed hon. secretary and treasurer Received tbat the picnio be held on Thursday, 29th December, in Mr. Winks' bash, if that gentleman will kindly gnttft- permission; the secretary to write to him on the subject. Resolved that each lady of tbe committee be famished with a sabsoription list, and tbat all parents and friends of the children be asked to subscribe food or, if that is inconvenient, mosey I and that all be cordially welcomed free. Tbe picnio is to be advertised in the Stab when the place in which it is to* be held is finally fixed. Tbe secretary was re* quested to see the gentlemen of the School Committee for their approval of date and locality, and to ask them to appoint offioers to assist on the day of thl picnic, to make provision for tbe conveyance of food, etc , and to provide prizes for sports. It was decided that the next meeting be summoned by the secretary when neesi* sary. Tbe meeting tben adjourned.
