The Times says that tbe aborigines in Northern Queensland have been treated like wild beasts, and it would be politic on tbe part of the Government of tbe oolony not to provoke discussion. It believes it may be possible to use inferior races for tbe development of the country, and at tbe same time avoid Bottling them per* manently on the soil. BRISBANE, June 8. Sir Samuel Griffiths has telegraphed to Mr. Piavford declining the proposal to bold v conference on the oolored labor question, and declaring that if such a conference were held the criticisms of the act of a Parliament in any one oolony would imperil tbe oause of federation.
