The success of the citizen's ball on tbe 27th is assured, some 200 people expected. Tenders for refreshments have been accepted by the committee, and everything is in fair working order. At the R.M. Court to-day, before E. A. Adams and E. Jollie, Bsqs., J.P.s, T. Coleman and Wallace were charged with fighting in tbe public street at Waverley on the evening of the fire at Mr. Fookes*. The former was also charged with using obscene language at the same time and place. Both informations were dismissed. Mr. G. D. Hamerton appeared for Coleman.

The Waverley arrived to-day from Westport with a load of coal. She experienced heavy weather throughout the passage. June 15.
